Ryan Benninger is an attorney who focuses his practice on defense of maritime claims in Florida state and federal courts, as well as arbitration proceedings. Previously, Mr. Benninger prosecuted criminal matters in Pennsylvania as an Assistant District Attorney. While in this role he gained considerable trial and appellate experience before Pennsylvania Superior and Supreme Courts. He also served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Judge Joseph M. George, Jr., in the Court of Common Pleas of Fayette County, Pennsylvania.
Mr. Benninger received his Bachelor of Science in Biology and Masters in Agricultural Resource Economics at West Virginia University. During his tenure in graduate school, he participated in an aquaculture program where he undertook extensive legal research and lobbying activities. He thereafter received his Juris Doctor from West Virginia University, graduating in the top third of his class.
Mr. Benninger went on to complete his L.L.M. in Admiralty and Maritime Law at the University of Miami School of Law. He uses his unique education in maritime law and professional legal background to aggressively investigate and litigate cases on behalf of his clients.
When not in the office, Mr. Benninger enjoys spending time with his wife while raising their two sons. He can regularly be found chasing tarpon, permit, and bonefish in the Florida Keys.
