McAlpin Tanner Marcotte Secures Defense Award In Favor Of Cruise Line

In an international arbitration against his former employer, a crewmember alleged that the shipboard medical center misdiagnosed him while he was onboard the ship. The crewmember claimed that the misdiagnosis caused him to suffer a myocardial infarction requiring quadruple bypass surgery several weeks after he completed his employment contract and returned home.  McAlpin Tanner Marcotte successfully represented one of the world’s premier cruise lines in the matter.  Ultimately, the Arbitrator issued a defense award equivalent to a defense verdict, concluding that that there was no misdiagnosis, that the cruise line was not negligent and that it had acted appropriately in all respects.
