(MIAMI) April 1, 2019 – McAlpin Tanner Marcotte PA, a boutique law firm specializing in Admiralty & Maritime Law, is pleased to announce that Daniel Marcotte has been named a Partner. He has been an Associate of the firm since December 2015.

Daniel is an accomplished maritime litigator whose experience includes complex maritime litigation, the defense of marine insurance claims, and general commercial disputes. He has spent his entire career defending major cruise lines, corporations, and underwriters in personal injury claims, first and third-party insurance claims, and admiralty and maritime matters, including passenger and crew claims, Exoneration or Limitation of Liability actions, wrongful death, salvage, vessel collisions, groundings, cargo damage or theft, and products liability claims.

He has successfully litigated in both state and federal court in jury and bench trials, as well as in international arbitration proceedings where he has assisted in obtaining several defense verdicts. He has obtained dismissals of numerous claims through summary judgement for several of the major cruise lines as well as insurance underwriters. He has also briefed several cases in the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit.
Daniel has extensive experience evaluating pre-suit and in-suit claims, developing litigation strategies, arguing complex issues at the trial-court level and handling all matters of discovery from case inception through trial.

A native of Miami, Daniel attended the University of Florida, where he graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration. He received his law degree at the Florida Coastal School of Law in 2007.

During his spare time, he enjoys spending time his family, watching his children play little league baseball and rooting for the Florida Gators.
